This Pastry and Baking Contest is organized by Raisin Administration Committee and collaboration with Chefs Association of Malaysia.

The Winner will be awarded to have a week of study trip to US California and Culinary Institute of American.

           RAC Rules and Regulations 2012    /    RAC Contest Registration Form

1. All registration forms and recipes must be type-written and accompanied by a bio and a headshot of each baker/pastry chef. All entries must also be accompanied by digital photographs of the entry. Submission deadline is 25th May, 2012. Registration forms may be sent by email (preferred), fax or mail. The organizers are not responsible for non receipt of registration forms.
2.  Theme for the contest is “LOVE YOUR CALIFORNIA RAISINS”.
• There are two categories of participation:
  >> a. Best Bread category – for professionals
  ———– California Raisin Bread – 5 hours
  >> b. Best Pastry/Cake category – for professionals
  ———– California Raisin Cake – 5 hours
3.  The contest is open to pastry chefs/bakers currently employed in a related industry i.e. hotels, restaurants, culinary institutions and bakeries.
4. Preliminary selection of recipes will be conducted by a panel of judges and selected finalists will be informed by 31st May, 2012.
• All selected finalists will participate in an actual bake-off/cook-off on Saturday, 9TH June, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
5. The first prize winners of categories 2 (a) and 2 (b) will be awarded a study tour to California, USA. This tour will take winners to the Culinary Institute of America, Napa Valley as well as a visit with the California Raisin industry. This tour includes a return economy air ticket on a US carrier and hotel accommodation during the duration of the tour. The study tour is scheduled for early September 2012 and is subject to change.
